-The local protest zine was a project that collated photos of found local protest over the two years whilst studying this MA.
-A collection of collated photos were put together in a small zine
-I wanted the zine to be small and square in size
-All the images in the zine only featured the photo and a simple detail of where the protest was found. This was so that there was no bias in the zine for or against any of the 'protests'
-This was first printed on the Riso, a digital mock up is shown below..
-Reflecting on previous collated research into layouts, the first page was inspired by an old magazine layout I had found and the Poster House talk on the grid I had attended..
All of the layout end editing was developed using InDesign..
-The issue with the Riso was that some of the smaller writing in the protests were not legible, I did not want to change the size of the booklet so realised this would not be possible to print in this way..
Even when trying to edit the colours and do a colour separation the text was still not legible enough for me so I decided to print this digitally..
-The digital booklet also held plain stickers which did not hold any instructions or text to nudge people to make their own voice heard in whichever way they felt fit
-It is printed on paper that I have used with Riso printing, to still give it a pleasing weight, colour and feel when reading..
-The first page also holds a tracing paper overlay again which reflects earlier layout and binding research that was developed earlier in the module...
