Perth Gallery Exhibitions and Research Links

Updated: Sep 10, 2022

The use and research of protest in this MA has reduced in the last two modules but the processes and thoughts of protest and activism still have a lot in common with what I wish to

make/exhibit/convey.

the following exhibition pieces, shown in Perth museum I feel show these differing ways of conveying 'the voice'

The explanations on the back of the exhibition boards I felt gave it a personal and connected feel to the works..

notes from the gallery..

Glasgow-based artists Zoe Walker and Neil Bromwich present a new and thought-provoking art installation at Perth Museum and Art Gallery. The Serpent of Capitalism invites audiences to think about capitalism in our society and what the alternatives might be.

To accompany the large-scale inflatable serpent sculpture, a series of drawings and photographs by Walker & Bromwich will re-imagine the shifting world around us and trace the shaping of societies, religions, ideas, and beliefs.

This part of the exhibition set up was very interesting and speaks of how the works, posters and protests are placed in spaces that are not usually used in the museum. This interrupts expectations and grabs attention which you want for protest, or when raising voices
