I entered my WeType screen print, for the Pressing Matters open submission.
It was chosen as one of the 25 images for issue 12 from over 550 submissions!!
It was really nice as GF Smith papers were on the panel to pick which prints were picked.
Ive also gained quite a few new followers and likes on social media from this
My Common screen print was also exhibited in the Succor Succour exhibition, Priestman Gallery. It was nice to get some feedback from visitors to my work and some more social media promotion.
I recently attended a 4 day Mokuhanga workshop, learning the art of Japanese woodcut. The course was amazing, I had woodcut knowledge but the techniques of Japanese woodcut were really insightful and great to learn and explore.
I used my common print as a challenge to cut and print, because of the geometric and strong graphic lines within the work.
It needs some refined cutting, but Im happy with the print so far..
Thos wont be developed in the MA but I did enjoy looking at the WeTyoe different mediums and it made soem great discussion with the other participants about my MA work and community links.
(A5 size, 2 colour separation with kento registration)
