I've Developed a few connections which I wanted to document
Baltic Open Submission
I have a piece of my work in the Baltic!
The screen-print called 3580 (B&W piece above) is in an exhibition on the ground floor at the Baltic which is currently being show virtually. Im hoping to see it in person soon when the Baltic reopens, the exhibition runs until September. The Baltic, through this exhibition have also developed a project called, OpenOut and I have emailed to see if I can be involved or support this project in any way as there is a community aspect to it, in which they want the works to reach into local spaces.
British Printing Society
I am now a member of the British Printing Society, there is a informative magazine every 2 months and it gives me access to books and manuals on the different presses. There is chance to speak to other member too and ask questions and speak about different projects.
Correspondence Collective
I have also been picked to exhibit my work in an exhibition by Correspondence Collective, the theme is restriction. It looks at what this theme means to the participants in terms of lockdown and covid. My work will be exhibited in a set of letterpress type drawers and I plan to make my work around my allotment poster questions of, how do you want the world to look?
Digital Incubator
https://www.sunderland.ac.uk/more/services-for-business/start-a-business/digital-incubator/ Im currently also finishing my presentation for the digital incubator to gain support and funding towards Walter and Edith. I hope this will help me gain a better understanding of the best ways to progress to market and develop the name.
