A few leads for small projects, developing from local area research
I joined a local community group to see if there were any contacts or leads I could follow to develop small projects from.
I found a post in which a local resident to me wanted to develop a wildflower space on a local disused piece of green space. From this I then found the council guide to green spaces in the local area, in which was very helpful to see how the council respond to the greenspace and public interactions to green spaces

I am hoping to get in contact with the lead of the project to create the wildflower space to see if I can help in any way.
Another post on another local group I joined asked for helpers to decorate a local community space as it had a new committee in place and a new name to refresh the space and reconnect with the community. I have emailed one of the heads of the committee to set up a meeting as although they wanted people to help to decorate I have explained my MA project and intentions around this and suggested I could make posters or visuals for the space to help to revitalise the space.

I have met with two members of the committee and have discussed ideas of helping with a local history board, signage or design work for the youth group. I am going to discuss ideas and get in contact with another member of the committee who works with the arts groups to see how i can connect and support with the community centre.

Sunderland Green and Open Spaces to see if there are any leads there I can follow.
