Do-It Style

Mark Williams from Flintshire DO- IT. Flintshire DO-IT are a co-operative that uses Asset Based Community Development approaches. DO-IT stands for Developing Opportunities & Interests Together

Do not try and satisfy your vanity by,

Teaching a great many things,

Awaken peoples curiosity,

Its enough to open minds,

Do not overload them,

Put there just a spark,

If theres some good inflammable stuff,

It will catch fire

Anatole France

-Do-It start the projects by gaining information from individuals using a one page profile. It shows the interests and what is important to each individual. Then builds on equality and inclusion plus assets from each individual to show what they can contribute and how they can develop the community inclusion

-Helen Sanderson associates gives a good method for one page profiles http://helensandersonassociates.co.uk/person-centred-practice/one-page-profiles/

-In 2014 a mall group started Do-It (so as not to waste time talking)

-Ideas of how to structure projects and ideas..

Keys to inclusion, be positive, welcome possibilities, learning together, support inclusion,

-The solution circle, is a timed chat about an issue, uninterrupted. Then discussion and then ideas to move forward

-https://copronet.wales/ co production ideas

-ownership and investment is important to a project. Ownership = sustainability of a project

-Outcome>Strengths>what do you need to change>networks>ideas and actions

Eddie Izzard

Make Humanity Great Again

-Make Humanity great again fund

-Money goes to charities which develop and make humanity great

-Eddie said Im a spiritual atheist, (the word atheist is demonised) wars happen and no mystical god came to help. Spiritual in that I believe in the good in people. 'Golden rule' in most religions is to treat other people as you treat yourself.

-Was Hitler born that bad? Passing violence and bad on, sometimes you can learn it in younger life and pass it on

-Leaders all around the world saying to break apart and separate but you can legislate that, you need to come together more and make more forged connections.

-Nelson Mandela and Abraham Lincoln (watch team of rivals and Lincoln films) are are great political talismen. A lot of wise people have been talked about throughout history and a lot of women too who have been wiped out of the history books

-Humans had a cognitive revolution around 70,000 years ago, in which equal brain power was developed. The realisation that brain power was more important that muscle power, At that point we would have been talking and thinking, it should have been equal from then on in terms of gender.

-7.8 billion people on the planet, for them to be happier and in a better place it starts in a more local space,
