Glug Birmingham held a talk on 22nd Oct with seven artists and designers talking about their outlooks, motivations and experiences.
Anthony Burrill
Anthony had a collection of posters which he had collected that inspired his practice.
He liked how the posters, printed for sales information and shops were made by individuals that did not know graphic design rules or that they were breaking them

Jane McDevitt
Jane showed a collection of matchbox images from a range of sources such as Bulgarian lottery tickets and eastern bloc matchboxes. Jane finds some of the imagery at the Library of Congress. She has recently made a book with Neal Whittington from Present and Correct about eastern bloc matchbox imagery, titled Matchbloc.
Hugh Miller
Hugh Miller works on brand and design projects he showed his collection of graphic books and prints.
Elizabeth Goodspeed
Elizabeth is a designer working in typography, identity, editorial design and a casual archivist. Her collection of imagery spanned from vintage Sainsburys packaging to US department of labour. Under the website Casual Archivist Elizabeth shared her extensive archive list sorted into many categories.
