-Organisations have the ability to change their products and ideas for the better. A lot of the time they won't as this will cost and lose money and profit
-Examples as seatbelts and the automobile association. The association was resilient to change its ways as it would cost. Ralph Nader wrote Unsafe at Any Speed: The Designed-In Dangers of the American Automobile first published in 1965 to show the dangers posed which changed views and pushed the association to introduce seatbelts
-There are moral reflections with social media companies and how they make status more important, eg. likes statuses algorithms etc which promote tribes and divisions
-Facebook worships at the alter of engagement

Social media may not be the most dangerous tool at present, but it accelerates its affects immensely
-We are not educated and sophisticated enough as a society to see and deal with manipulation
- Looking at nicotine, in the Supreme Court there were seven major CEOs in the 90s who denied nicotine is addictive. Additives such as menthol and flavours are added to keep smoking your lungs for longer
-There are links between the above instances, seatbelts, nicotine and Facebook.
-Then there are two tribes, those who benefit and those who are dealt the deals
-The understanding of the truth is very damaged at present
-Companies use manipulation through emotions and pull on our good side
-Examples below of policies which should be put in place for social media companies
Disinformation and misinformation should be screened

Reams of terms and conditions not fair to read so much information should be more clear
-Its not that they can't do it, its that they choose not to change (keep more profit)
-We need more penetrating questions and to be less gullible about information
-Are there any media outlets that can be totally trusted? Tom Harford BBC seems to show unbiased and information
-We need to find reliable sources that work and we can believe in
-Influencers for example, can then turn into monetised brands and the honesty in the information and influence can change
-Perception. People for example, teachers are generalised, it changes our perception and stereotypes of a person and reflection in the media
-Responses in social media can be reflections of the true self
-When human being see others situations, we can we understand more (re-humanise)
-Can we see human beings as human beings and not as the other?
-Believe in community and when we understand other situations we are better. See the bigger picture and need to become less divided
